Between the Garonne quays and the lanes of the Triangle d'Or, Reformer Pilates and yoga have taken a lasting place in the Bordeaux landscape. Brand-new studios in Saint-Genès and Saint-Pierre, a Studio & Café concept in the heart of the city, more intimate addresses on the left bank and the right bank alike: Bordeaux offers real choice, driven by trained teams and places designed to last.
At Vytal Oya, we love this world in particular: the ritual of the mat or the reformer has a lot in common with that of a cup of ube latte before or after class, a moment for yourself, with no stimulant, no artifice. Here is our selection of five Bordeaux studios, with what you need to know before booking.
Soda Studio: Saint-Genès and Belvédère
A highly visible name in Reformer Pilates in Bordeaux, Soda Studio covers the city with two locations: Saint-Genès, right in the centre, and Belvédère on the right bank. Classes, limited to twelve participants and lasting 50 minutes, include classic Reformer Pilates and the more intense Renfo Reformer, as well as yoga slots.
Yoon Studio: Saint-Pierre
On rue Maucoudinat, between Saint-Pierre and Camille Jullian, Yoon Studio bets on a holistic approach to wellness: seven Reformers to keep an intimate atmosphere, floor classes, but also draining massages and LED light sessions. A format that goes beyond a simple fitness class to become a true wellness ritual.
The New Me: Triangle d'Or
Located on cours du Chapeau Rouge, in the very heart of the Triangle d'Or and near the Grand Théâtre, The New Me brings its Studio & Café concept to Bordeaux: group Reformer and mat Pilates classes, a built-in latte bar, a polished setting designed to extend the session beyond the mat. A format already proven in Paris and Lyon.
OYA Original
The caffeine-free post-class ritual
100% pure ube powder, no additives, no colourings, sourced in the Ilocos Region, Northern Luzon. Vytal Oya would be delighted to support a Bordeaux studio and introduce ube latte to its students: feel free to write to us to discuss it.
Discover OYA OriginalRIISE: Pey-Berland and Chartrons
With two locations, cours d'Albret near Pey-Berland and cours de la Martinique in Chartrons, RIISE brings to Bordeaux a concept already established in Paris and Marseille. The Pey-Berland studio is dedicated exclusively to the Reformer, while Chartrons offers both mat and Reformer, for 50-minute classes open to all levels.
Reform & Flow: city centre
A cocoon studio in the very heart of Bordeaux, Reform & Flow bets on small groups and a warm atmosphere rather than large, impersonal rooms. Six disciplines are offered: Reformer Pilates, Mat Pilates, Vinyasa Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga and Prenatal Yoga, for beginner and experienced students alike.
How to choose the right studio
Beyond reputation or decor, a few simple criteria will help you make the right choice before committing to a membership.
Group size. On Reformer in particular, a class of 3-7 people allows real coach follow-up, compared with more distant guidance beyond 10-12 participants.
Coach training. Ask about certifications and don't hesitate to attend a trial class before committing for several months.
Location and schedule. A studio close to home or work, with early-morning or evening slots, radically changes how consistently you show up over time.
Membership flexibility. Pay-as-you-go options, class packs, monthly memberships with no commitment: it is better to try several formats before settling on an annual plan.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best neighbourhood to practice Pilates or yoga in Bordeaux?
Saint-Pierre and the Triangle d'Or have the largest number of premium studios in the city centre. Saint-Genès, Chartrons and the right bank (Belvédère) also offer very good addresses, often more accessible.
How much does a Reformer Pilates class cost in Bordeaux?
Expect between €20 and €35 for a single class depending on the studio, for 50-minute sessions in small groups. Packs or memberships generally bring this price down.
Do you need to be athletic to start Pilates or yoga?
No. Most of the studios listed here offer classes or time slots for beginners, with gradual guidance on core work, balance and breathing.
Can you try a studio before committing?
Yes, almost all the addresses in this selection offer a first discovery class or a trial pass. It is the best way to judge the atmosphere and the teaching before signing up for a membership.
Does Vytal Oya work with fitness studios?
We are open to collaborations with Pilates and yoga studios in Bordeaux and elsewhere, to introduce ube latte to their students. Feel free to contact us if you are interested.
