Between the calanques and the Old Port, Marseille has become in just a few years a real stronghold of Reformer Pilates and urban yoga. Bright studios in the 6th, intimate cocoons in the 8th, café-wellness concepts in Camas: the city is full of serious addresses, run by teams of trained coaches in places designed for ritual as much as for performance.
At Vytal Oya, we love this world in particular: the ritual of the mat or the reformer has a lot in common with that of a cup of ube latte before or after class, a moment for yourself, with no stimulant, no artifice. Here is our selection of nine Marseille studios, sorted by neighbourhood, with what you need to know before booking.
Paradisio Pilates Club: Préfecture
Located at 133 rue Paradis, a stone's throw from the Estrangin metro station, Paradisio was one of the very first studios entirely dedicated to Reformer Pilates in Marseille. The concept is built around three levels of themed classes, Fun-damentals for beginners, Flow for intensity, Power-up for strengthening, with 7-day-a-week opening hours that make it a practical address for fitting in a session on weekdays as well as weekends.
Studio 24 Marseille: 6th arrondissement
In the 6th arrondissement, Studio 24 offers a resolutely modern Pilates and Reformer concept, set in a bright and soothing space. The coaches alternate core work, balance and breathing throughout the sessions, with an approach aimed as much at beginners as at regular practitioners looking to progress on more technical movements.
Tonic Pilates: 6th arrondissement
Perched on the 5th floor of a building in the 6th arrondissement, Tonic Pilates plays the panoramic city view card. The studio offers two formats: floor mat classes that can host up to 18 people, and small-group Reformer sessions for more personalised guidance.
The New Me: 8th arrondissement
Located on boulevard Lord Duveen in the 8th arrondissement, The New Me bets on a high-end experience: 14 latest-generation Reformer machines, a team of international coaches and a café space designed as a place to hang out as much as to work out. The brand, founded in Paris, now has about ten studios in France.
Muse: Camas
At 19 rue Louis Astruc, in the Camas neighbourhood (5th arrondissement), Muse cultivates a cocooning experience: eight reformers bathed in soft light, sometimes candlelight, complemented by a 90 m² terrace and extra services (massage, osteopathy, drainage). The studio offers Reformer Pilates as well as yoga, open 7 days a week.
OYA Original
The caffeine-free post-class ritual
100% pure ube powder, no additives, no colourings, sourced in the Ilocos Region, Northern Luzon. Vytal Oya would be delighted to support your studio and introduce ube latte to your students: feel free to write to us to discuss it.
Discover OYA OriginalEnergy Studio Pilates: La Valentine
With over 300 m², Energy Studio Pilates is one of the largest spaces dedicated to Reformer Pilates and Mat Pilates in the city, in the La Valentine area. The modern, bright space allows more classes to run at the same time, an asset for those looking for flexibility in scheduling.
La Maison des Yogis: 8th arrondissement
At 39 rue Borde, a stone's throw from avenue du Prado, La Maison des Yogis offers a deliberately intimate approach to yoga, in small groups. The venue also houses a sophrology practice, for those who want to extend the work on breathing and stress management beyond the mat.
Bloom Yoga: Préfecture / Vauban
At 81 rue Saint-Jacques, in the 6th arrondissement, Bloom Yoga studio & café combines yoga classes (Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin) with an on-site café corner, in a friendly spirit. The address is easily reached by metro (Estrangin) or tram, a real asset for a weekday wellness break.
Studio Respire: Saint-Julien
In the quiet Saint-Julien neighbourhood (12th arrondissement), at 20 boulevard de la Comtesse, Studio Respire offers dynamic yoga classes for all levels, with or without music, as well as slots dedicated to children. Groups are deliberately limited to about a dozen students per class.
How to choose the right studio
Beyond reputation or decor, a few simple criteria will help you make the right choice before committing to a membership.
Group size. On Reformer in particular, a class of 4-6 people allows real coach follow-up, compared with more distant guidance beyond 10-12 participants.
Coach training. Ask about certifications (Reformer Pilates, Yoga Alliance, etc.) and don't hesitate to attend a trial class before committing for several months.
Location and schedule. A studio close to home or work, with early-morning or evening slots, radically changes how consistently you show up over time.
Membership flexibility. Pay-as-you-go options, 10-class packs, monthly memberships with no commitment: it is better to try several formats before settling on an annual plan.
The overall atmosphere. Lighting, music, cleanliness of the equipment, welcome: it is often these details that make the difference between a studio you come back to and a studio where you only take a trial class.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best neighbourhood to practice Pilates or yoga in Marseille?
The 6th arrondissement (Préfecture, Estrangin) has the largest number of studios, but the 8th, Camas and Saint-Julien also offer very good addresses, often more intimate.
How much does a Reformer Pilates class cost in Marseille?
Expect between €25 and €40 for a single class, for 50 to 55-minute sessions in small groups of 4 to 6 people. Packs or memberships generally bring this price down.
Do you need to be athletic to start Pilates or yoga?
No. Most of the studios listed here offer classes or time slots for beginners, with gradual guidance on core work, balance and breathing.
Can you try a studio before committing?
Yes, almost all the addresses in this selection offer a first discovery class or a trial pass. It is the best way to judge the atmosphere and the teaching before signing up for a membership.
Does Vytal Oya work with fitness studios?
We are open to collaborations with Pilates and yoga studios in Marseille and elsewhere, to introduce ube latte to their students. Feel free to contact us if you are interested.
